Chris is recognized as one of Canada’s leading international lawyers whose practice areas include corporate, M&A, securities and cross border transactions in the natural resource industry. Chris has advised on resource and related transactions in Eastern and Western Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia. His practice has been almost exclusively within the Latin American resource industry over the last 20 years of his practice with a particular focus on Colombia. Most recently, Chris was a founder and director of Buffalo Mission Energy Corp., a junior oil company working with the Frog Lake First Nation in Northern Alberta, which company was purchased by a public company in Q3 2024.

Jeff is an experienced finance professional with a proven track record in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and corporate strategy. He co-founded a consumer packaged goods (CPG) company and served as CFO, leading the company through a successful sale in 2018 for $630 million. Mr. Barber has provided strategic counsel to numerous early-stage resource companies and serves on the boards of Standard Lithium (NYSE American: SLI) and Helium Evolution (TSXV: HEVI). His investment banking career includes four years with Raymond James Limited, preceded by positions in investment banking and equity research at Canaccord Genuity Corp. Mr. Barber began his career as an Economist with Deloitte LLP. He holds a Masters in Finance and Economics from the University of Alberta and is a CFA charter holder.

He has held various executive positions including VP Exploration at Canadian private start-up Bolivar Energy, Director of Exploration for Latin America at private equity backed Casa Exploration, Exploration Manager of Vetra E&P Colombia and most recently Executive VP Exploration at Amerisur Resources PLC, which was acquired by GeoPark for US$340 million.
